Why this blog:
Food is fuel… in that it gives our body energy on which to run. I try to prepare ‘fuel4myfamily’ that is nutritious and YUMMY. When I search online for a healthy, simple, affordable recipe I am really thankful to the bloggers who have taken the time to share their recipes with others. (We’ve enjoyed some GREAT meals after a quick ‘google’ recipe search). I started this blog after much encouragement from my children, simply to contribute to the healthy and simple recipes available online… to “share the love” 🙂
(Disclaimer: 😉 The photos won’t be flash, as I’m not art-y, and, as a busy home schooling mama, I don’t have a lot of time to put in to this…but I hope the recipes will benefit at least some on their journey to feeding their family well.)
I am blessed to have an amazing husband who is also my dearest friend. We are super thankful to be the parents of 3 fabulous ‘biological’ kids, and one amazing non-biological child (who came to us through the NZ foster system) who has completed our family of 6 … and we are all FOODIES. I love my family, and I enjoy food, but my greatest love is my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who has demonstrated His love in the most profound, deep, sacrificial, beautiful, compassionate way imaginable and possible.
(Please see: http://www.gty.org/resources/articles/A335 for more about who Jesus is.)
I love His word, the Bible, and my goal in life is to please Him and live for Him. This life on earth is so fleeting. Heaven is my home… but until I go to be there, in God’s perfect timing, I will seek, with God’s help, to glorify Him in all I do.
“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31
Even though Jesus Christ is my greatest passion, I don’t intend to write about that on this blog. I’d rather point you to the true, sure, right, perfect source of wisdom and truth about God in His Word, the Bible. If you don’t have your own Bible, I recommend you start off by reading the book of “John” here: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+1&version=ESV

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time…” 1 Corinthians 15:3-6
“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 10:9-10
